The short version: DayFrame is a local desktop app. Your data lives on your machine. We do not have servers, we do not collect your emails, calendar events, or financial data, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone. The only external connections DayFrame makes are the ones you explicitly enable to show you live information.

1. Who We Are

DayFrame is a Windows desktop application developed and sold independently. When this policy says "we," "our," or "DayFrame," it refers to the developer of the DayFrame application. Contact: saltysmh@gmail.com.

2. What Data DayFrame Stores

DayFrame stores everything locally on your computer using Electron's built-in secure storage. This includes:

None of this data is ever sent to DayFrame's developer or any third party other than the services described below.

3. Third-Party APIs and Services

DayFrame connects to external services only to fetch live data for features you use. Here is every external service the app may contact, what data it sends, and what it receives.

📬 Google Gmail API
gmail.modify  ·  gmail.send

Used when you connect a Gmail account. DayFrame uses Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate, which means you log in through Google's own sign-in page and DayFrame never sees your password.

gmail.modify allows DayFrame to read your inbox, mark messages as read, apply labels, move messages to trash, and open threads. gmail.send allows DayFrame to send emails you compose within the app.

Your email content is fetched directly from Google's servers to your device and displayed in the app. DayFrame does not store, forward, log, or analyze your email content. OAuth tokens that keep you signed in are stored locally on your device. You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

DayFrame's use of Gmail data follows Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

🌤 Open-Meteo (Weather)
api.open-meteo.com  ·  geocoding-api.open-meteo.com

Used to show current weather and forecasts. DayFrame sends your chosen city name or geographic coordinates to Open-Meteo's free, public weather API. No account, no API key, and no personally identifiable information is required or transmitted. Open-Meteo is an open-source weather service that does not track individual users. Learn more at open-meteo.com.

📍 IP Geolocation (Weather auto-detect)
ip-api.com  ·  ipapi.co (fallback)

If you use the automatic location feature for weather, DayFrame makes a one-time request to ip-api.com (with ipapi.co as a fallback) to estimate your city from your IP address. Your IP address is sent to these services as part of a normal HTTP request. DayFrame does not store the result beyond the current session. This request is only made when weather auto-detect is enabled.

📈 Yahoo Finance (Stocks)
query2.finance.yahoo.com

Used to fetch live stock prices and daily change data for tickers you add. DayFrame sends the stock symbol (for example, "AAPL") and receives pricing data. No personal information is included in these requests. This is an unofficial, unauthenticated endpoint; no account is required.

₿ Coinbase Exchange API (Crypto)
api.exchange.coinbase.com

Used to search for cryptocurrencies and fetch live prices for coins you add to your dashboard. DayFrame sends the trading pair symbol (for example, "BTC-USD") and receives price and volume data. No account, login, or personal information is required or transmitted.

🥇 Kitco (Precious Metals)
kitco.com/charts

Used to display spot prices for gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. DayFrame fetches publicly available price data from Kitco's website. No personal information is transmitted. Kitco's own privacy policy governs their handling of web traffic to their site.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

5. Google API Limited Use Disclosure

DayFrame's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

6. Children's Privacy

DayFrame is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review it periodically. Continued use of DayFrame after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
